Why is Intentional Disciplemaking Important?

"Discipleship does not happen simply because a church exists...

It occurs when there is an intentional and strategic thrust to facilitate spiritual maturity,” states, George Barna, in his book Growing True Disciples (p 29). “Almost every church in our country has some type of discipleship program or set of activities. Stunningly few churches have a church of disciples” (p21). “If we hope to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals and in the nation’s culture, then we must increase our intentionality, our intensity and improve our strategies” (p63).

"Equipping the Church for Intentional Discipleship"

Our Mission: To equip and mobilize church members for the work of ministry in fulfilling the great commission of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).

Our Strategy: We seek to serve the Church of Jesus Christ around the world by networking local churches with ministries, individuals and resources that seek to faithfully advance the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

Core Objectives:

  • Exploring Christ  We want to help spiritual seekers meet Jesus Christ and experience forgiveness and new life in Him.

  • Embracing Christ  We want to help new believers connect with other Christ-followers in a local church and teach them basic truths of the faith.

  • Established in Christ  We want Christians to become faithful followers of Christ and grow to maturity in their faith.

  • Equipped for Christ  We want Christians to serve God by serving others with the gifts and talents God has given them.

  • Empowered for Christ  We want to develop leaders who will impact our world for Christ by making and multiplying disciples.

The Intentional Discipleship Network seeks to serve the Church of Jesus Christ around the world by networking local churches with ministries, individuals and resources that seek to faithfully advance the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).
